K Koushal Jammu, Apr 30: Already in news, the unpopular head of Punjabi Department, Prof Archana Kesar is marred with yet another accusation of guiding just 'three PhD scholars' in her entire career and of harassing scholars. Keeping all the norms and laws set by higher institution at bay, Prof Kesar has supervised only three PhD scholars in her entire career of almost 30 years, which according to UGC norm is that a professor has to supervise eight scholars at a time. According to professor in the Jammu University, wishing anonymity, Prof Archana Kesar has supervised three scholars in Dogri Department in her career of almost thirty years. "Owing to the political influence, Prof Archana Kesar managed to get post of head of Punjabi Department, but her naked incompetence is evident from her working statistics, which speak aloud," said Professor. He added that Prof Kesar was inducted in the year 1985 and since then she had supervised only three PhD Scholars. "Number of scholars were enrolled under Prof Kesar, but due to her indifferent attitude and approach towards scholars, most of them withdrew their registration after facing harassment," he said, adding that Sunita Badwal and Rani Thakur are among those scholars who had to withdraw their registration due to harassment by Prof Kesar. Accusing Prof Archana Kesar of encouraging politics over research, Professor in the Jammu University claimed that Prof Archana is more of triggering controversies between student and authorities in the Dogri department. "Prof Archana Kesar ignites hatred between Students and faculty of Dogri department. She also exploits students to oppose current head of Dogri Department," he said. Professor further said that Prof Kesar had also brainwashed students of Dogri Department to resist Dogri Sanstha, which is again harming Dogri culture. Taking dig at the Jammu University administration, Professor in the Jammu University revealed, "the poor administration of the Jammu University succumbs to political influence of certain people and without considering their competence they are being adjusted at higher posts. It is pertinent to mention here that Prof Archana Kesar is presently serving as a Head of Punjabi Department, convenor at Dogri department and Principle at Music and Fine Arts, despite having her masters in Sanskrit, M.Phil in Sanskrit, while as Hon's and Ph.D in Dogri. |
