Queries about absence of teachers angers ZEO Mandi
Instigates teachers' to lodge protest against Tehsildar, SHO concerned

Jammu, May 17 : In an attempt to demolish education system at grass root level, ZEO Mandi Danish Nazir created scene today and got irked when he was questioned about unauthorized absence of some teachers from Government Primary School Purian in Zone Mandi.
Following protest by the families of students studying there in the Government Primary School Purian yesterday for unauthorized absence of two teachers for the last over a quite time, Tehsildar concerned Aamir Rather and Probationer Dy SP, at present SHO Mandi Dr. Hilal Ahmad interacted with the agitating families and assured action against the erring teachers.
Following this, a written complaint was also lodged against the ZEO and clerk Mushtaq Ahmed in presence of Dy. Commissioner Sajjad Ahmad Khan by a lady who alleged that both used to demand bribe referring a similar case when she herself was forced by Mushtaq for bribed to be selected as cook in the school.
Later on Tehsildar concerned also said that he had also received some complaints against the ZEO and asked SHO concerned to know the whereabouts of ZEO. Acting on the advice of Tehsildar, SHO took him to the Police Station and tried to know why some teachers were absent from the village and why did not he initiate enquiry against such teachers.
It irked the ZEO that he instigated some teachers of the village to protest against SHO and Tehsildar and leveled allegations against both of them of manhandling inside Police station and described it as against democratic rights of any citizen. When contacted, Tehsildar concerned told Early Times that number of written complaints have been lodged against the ZEO by the locals owing to which he directed SHO to know why ZEO was not taking any action against the erring teachers and why did not he visit the school himself. Tehsildar said he is not afraid of any protest and ready for any inquiry.
