`Coke is as bad as heroin, causes osteoporosis, menopausal symptoms'

Early Times Report
Srinagar, May 17 : The revised second edition of the Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine has made some frightening disclosures about Coca Cola. For some of them coke is as good, rather as bad as heroin. The experts say, in the first ten minutes, at least ten teaspoons of sugar hit the system (body). This is 100% increase in the recommended intake of a normal person. Excessive intake of sugar makes one vomit immediately but the overwhelming sweetness of the coke is cut down by phosphoric acid (which coke contains in abundance). After twenty minutes, the blood sugar spikes cause an insulin burst. The liver responds to this by turning sugar into fat. At this point of time, experts say, there is plenty of sugar in the body. Caffeine absorption is complete in forty minutes. The pupils dilate; blood pressure rises. Again the liver responds by r dumping more sugar into the bloodstream. The adenosine receptors in the brain get blocked to prevent drowsiness.
In the forty fifth minute, coke has the same effect on the body that heroin has. The body ups dopamine production, stimulating the pleasure centers of your brain. Coke affects the body adversely in different ways in the next fifteen minutes ranging from evacuating calcium bonded by coke in the 60thminute. Similarly magnesium and zinc would also be evacuated. A person, who takes coke regularly, cannot therefore, have strong bones and teeth. The adverse effects of coke on the body can be best understood by a video (which is available on the YouTube) prepared by Sammy Productions Japan. The video shows how a boiled un peeled egg loses its brittleness and turns elastic in a container filled with coke. The shell of the egg is made up of calcium, phosphorus and sodium. These elements are essential ingredient of teeth and bones. Coke contains caffeine citrate, citric acid and phosphoric acid. These acids dissolve calcium in the body. Coke causes osteoporosis. According to Michael Murray ND and Joseph Pizzorno ND of the United States, "Many general dietary factors have been suggested as a cause of osteoporosis, including: low calcium-high phosphorus intake, high-protein diet, high-acid-ash diet, high salt intake, and trace mineral deficiencies. It appears that increased soft drink consumption is a major factor that contributes to osteoporosis. A deficiency of vitamin K leads to impaired mineralization of bone. Boron deficiency may contribute greatly to osteoporosis as well as to menopausal symptoms. Soft drinks have long been suspected of leading to lower calcium levels and higher phosphate levels in the blood. When phosphate levels are high and calcium levels are low, calcium is pulled out of the bones. The phosphate content of soft drinks like coke is very high, and they contain virtually no calcium." A joint team from Hazards Centre and People's Science Institute visited the surrounding area of Coca Cola Plant in Plachimada, district-Palakkad on 28th and 29th of November 2005. Post-monsoon water samplings were done in the surrounding villages. The team investigated the soil and water environment of the surrounding area and interacted with the villagers to evaluate the post project and pre project environmental as well as health scenario of the villagers of the area. The team took as many as nine samples from wells around the plant. All the samples contained toxic substances. Shockingly the villagers drink from the wells and also irrigate their land. The toxins, team found; had adversely affected banana and coconut trees. In some samples the team found a blackish oily film on the water surface.
