NC's impromptu 'INTROSPECTIVE' exercise begins

Early Times Report

Jammu, May 17: Even as Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has taken the blame for bad performance of his party and candidly said the other day that he holds himself responsible for worst ever debacle, National Conference high command already pushed itself into an exercise which would determine where and how things went wrong on polling stations for the party. It is a sort of anatomy NC style of all polling stations for the three Parliamentary seats of Kashmir Valley which party lost to its rival PDP.
Sources said shocked over the drubbing on all the three seats, NC high command has set up a team of senior leaders who would perform a specific task of taking assessment of booth wise votes that were cast on polling dates for respective Parliamentary constituencies. Apart from holding marathon introspection sessions which are very crucial ahead of Assembly polls, the NC high command has impromptu pushed itself into action as to know where and which segments betrayed the party post, sources within the party said. This, high command deems imperative as almost all leaders in the second line including high profile ministers had assured all is well and a positive picture for the party candidates in various segments, sources further said. The NC leaders had also exhibited it to the high command that they worked hard, rather overnight in order to mobilize voters to support party candidates.
Sources said notwithstanding the fact that NC high command nurses grouse and grumble against Congress for what it sees as complete betrayal by Congress workers on the ground, it has also initiated this move of taking a complete account of polling station vote data. In this the team would prepare what sources said 'authentic' data of how many votes were cast in favour of NC and on the basis of which the leaders of respective leaders would face questions from the high command. "We are waiting for this polling station wise data to be notified by the Election Commission following which we can ask for the same as a handy and authentic one....it will be dissected well at the party headquarters by the senior leaders and proper report would be prepared segment wise", a senior leader of NC said while disclosing this action has been directed from both Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah.
