Rajendra visits Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, June 8 : Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar visited Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine and reviewed security arrangements of the shrine and en-route. He also inspected the Police Station located at Bhawan and interacted with the personnel there. Accompanied by IGP, Jammu, Rajesh Kumar, the DGP took stock of the arrangements made for the Shrine and the pilgrims. He was apprised that adequate arrangements are in place to ensure the security of pilgrims en-route shrine and the Bhawan. He was also informed that all modern security gadgets including CCTV Cameras have been put in place at all sensitive locations to ensure proper scrutiny of the baggage and frisking of the visitors. Security personal in adequate numbers have also been deployed along the route to keep close vigil on the activities of suspicious elements to foil any subversive attempt. Rajendra asked the officers to review the functioning of CCTV Cameras constantly and get the faults rectified immediately, if found at any point of time. He also emphasized to ensure full scrutiny of the baggage of the pilgrims by using the latest security gadgets. He also called for close coordination between the shrine board management and police personnel to ensure tangible results. Earlier, the DGP paid obeisance at Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine and prayed for the peace and prosperity of the state and people. Senior Superintendent of Police, Reasi and SP, Katra also accompanied the DGP. |
