Amarnath yatra 2014: CEO for hassle-free issurance | | | Srinagar, June 8 : Concerned about certain press reports about the difficulties being faced by the intending pilgrims in accessing Government Doctors or Institutes nominated by the State Governments to issue the mandatory Compulsory Health Certificates (CHCs), SASB CEO R K Gupta has addressed Health Secretaries of all the States and UTs in the country and once again requested them to ensure that the intending Yatris do not face any inconvenience whatsoever in obtaining CHCs without which they cannot proceed to apply for Yatra Registration. The CEO has urged the Health Secretaries to consider nominating more Doctors, wherever problems are being faced by pilgrims because the number of doctors who are authorized to issue Certificates is inadequate or where doctors have been transferred out and no replacements have since been made. On the directions of the Supreme Court in 2012, the Shrine Board has put in place a mechanism to ensure that every intending Yatri procures a CHC, issued by a Doctor or Medical Institute authorised to do so by the State Government, before he or she proceeds to obtain a Yatra Permit to undertake the pilgrimage. SASB CEO has once again written to health secretaries of all states and Union Territories (UT) requesting them to ensure that health certificates are issued in favour of all pilgrims intending to undertake Amarnath yatra from June 28. |
