Another hottest day in Jammu, mercury touches 44.5 Degree Celsius | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 10: The City of Temples today witnessed hottest day with temperature touching season's maximum 44.5 Degree Celsius. Locals however, preferred to stay indoors to get rid of the prevailing hot weather conditions. "There is no respite from the increasing temperature in Jammu and the maximum temperature was today recorded season's maximum 44.5 Degree Celsius and minimum was 27 Degree Celsius," a MeT official here said. He said that the temperature is continuously rising for the last ten days and this afternoon it touched 44.5 Degree Celsius. "There will be no respite in the rising temperature in the coming days ahead and hot weather conditions will prevail," said an official. The official predicted mainly clear sky with maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 44°C and 27°C respectively. Earlier on May 29, the temperature was recorded maximum 41.8 Degree Celsius and on May 1, it was 40.3 Degree Celsius. In Srinagar the maximum temperature was recorded 30.2 Degree Celsius and minimum was 13.9 Degree Celsius. Leh region-famous as Cold Desert-recorded maximum 22.5 Degree Celsius and minimum 11.5 Degree Celsius. However, most of the vehicles today remained off road and the city roads wore deserted look due to prevailing hot conditions. |
