'Ambedkar Bridge' calls for attention 6/11/2014 11:39:30 PM Kathua, June 11: popularly known as main 'artery' of Kathua -the B.R Ambedkar bridge connecting two sides of Kathua is crying for due maintenance and is in deplorable condition. Locals alleged not the potholes offering a bumpy ride but the blackout due to absence of street light system makes the driving on this bridge more eerie during the nights. If recalled here that this was the bridge that was an epitome of the development of Kathua and established better connectivity to the town and was inaugurated in 1994 by the then Governor of J&K state K V Krishna Rao. "But over the past twenty years, the apathy of the concerned authorities have turned this life line into a horrible experience to the riders, locals alleged adding, "the potholes and darkness on this bridge is resulting into routine mishaps i.e. at the average five injuries on each day."   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
