DIG DKR inaugurates new police post

Kishtwar, June 11: Deputy Inspector General of Police Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban range Ashkoor Ahmed Wani in presence of SP Kishtwar Sanjay Kotwal and large number of local people today inaugurated Kuleed Police post on the outskirts of Kishtwar town.
According to press release, the DIG Ashkoor Wani laid stress on maintenance of peace and communal harmony. He said that time has come for the people of Kishtwar not to look the things and action through the prism of communalism. He said that Jammu and Kashmir police is committed to provide crime free atmosphere to the people and provide them better facilities at their door step. He also laid stress for better police-public relationships for effective policing. He assured the people that Kishtwar police will left no stone unturned to safeguard the rights of public of Kishtwar and will work with zeal and zest for the welfare of the people of the District. He also seeks cooperation from general public and laid stress for promoting brotherhood between the two communities.
Earlier, large number of speakers laid stress for night patrolling to check menace of increasing thefts, beside several other public related issues were also raised by the speakers. DIG after giving patience hearing to the issues raised by the public issued some on spot directions to the senior police officials. With the opening of this new police post, the burden on overburden Kishtwar police station will get lesser as the newly police post will cover a major chunk of areas including Kuleed, Wasser, Hanjola Cherhar, Sangrabata, Giri Nagar, Bandarkoot and other areas.
