IRP-19th Battalion celebrates Raising Day | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, June 12: IRP-19th Battalion celebrated the J&K Police Raising Day with great enthusiasm at Bn. Hqrs. Kathua. Dalip Kumar, SP Commandant was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The event was marked by a colourful ceremonial parade by the jawans and salute by the quarter guard was presented to the chief guest. Shivdeep Singh, SP Dy. Commandant and other ranks were also present. A chhabeel was also organized at the main gate where sweetened cold water was served to the pedestrians and passengers in the vehicles which gave much needed relief to the people from scorching heat. A cleanness drive in the nearby nallah will also be launched as point of the raising day celebration. As per the police stamen, the following activities/programmes including Display and demonstration of small arms, a painting competition for the children, a free health checkup for senior citizen of nearly villages, a lecture cum demo on "Road Accidents and Safety" by a team of SDRF and civil defence personnel for local youth shall also be organized in connection with police raising day celebrations in keeping with the proud traditions of J&K Police of helping out the citizens in distress. The whole idea is to bring police and people closer and create an atmosphere of peace and trust and make police more accessible to the common man. |
