| Ruhulla faces peoples' ire | | | Shakeel A Khan
BUDGAM, June 15: The leader of the ruling National Conference and sitting MLA from Budgam, Aga Syed Ruhulla has virtually gone into hiding as if he has no hopes of coming to power again. He seemingly has begun to feel the heat of the changing political scenario of Jammu and Kashmir.
The people of Budgam, Who have reservations against this leader, blame him for safeguarding the interests of a particular community to which he belongs. His priority is to serve the people of the Budgam mains leaving the other inhabitants to fend for themselves.
Majority of the people from Budgam want a change in the political representation as according to them, they have been let down by their MLA during the last six years. According to these people they have been completely neglected, thanks to the MLA Budgam.
"It was a blunder on our part to vote for a candidate whose emotions are attached to a particular community, whom he serves with zeal and zest, not to bother about other people of the district," said some people at Soibugh while talking to EARLY TIMES.
These people went on saying that the NC MLA did nothing for the betterment of their area as it still gives the primitive look. The roads, according to them, are in the worst condition with inadequate transport facility.
As per these people, the MLA did not advocate their case for the Tehsil level administrative unit for the Soibugh area which second most densely populated area of the Budgam district.
The people of the Budgam district aren't ready to digest the hollow slogans of the NC leaders wherein they wanted to give an impression that they have transformed the dreams of the people into the realities.
People who were talked to at Soibugh, repented for reposing their faith in Aga Syed Ruhulla. According to these people NC gives mandate to Ruhulla only to appease a particular community because this particular vote share has been decisive in deciding the fate of the candidate belonging to NC.
Many areas of the district Budgam have a sad story to tell as these areas haven't got access to the basic amenities. There are frequent power breakdowns, contaminated drinking water, improper medical facilities and poor road connectivity.
The NC MLA from Budgam, as the people complain, hardly ever bothered to look into their problems as they have been facing from time to time. The people told the EARLY TIMES that the MLA from Budgam is a card in the hands of the NC high command which they play at the right time.
