ZYWA demands OBC status for Zargar community | | | Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, June 15: Demanding OBC status, the Zargar Youth Welfare Association (ZYWA) Kishtwar, an amalgam of goldsmith families, has vowed to intensify its fight against local National Conference leadership accusing them off ignoring the community in jobs and other benefits. The demand was raised in a meeting of the association held here under the chairmanship of Ashiq Hussain Zargar wherein convenor, president and other members were elected. Zakir Hussain Zargar and Majid Bashir Zarger were unanimously elected as the convenor and president of the association while Ishtaq Ahmed Zargar as Vice President, Sajjad Hussain Zargar as General Secretary, Imran Zargar as Joint Secretary and Javed Iqbal Zargar as publicity Secretary. During the course of the meeting, all the participants strongly condemned the statement of National Conference Youth President published in 14-6-2014 edition of Early Times wherein he (NC Youth President) claims that he held talks with the community regarding the issues raised by them and further claims that the anger and resentment showed by the community has been somehow addressed. The association said that NC Youth President never held any talks with any representative of the community and termed his statement as bluff. The association also blamed the NC leadership for ignoring the community on all fronts and added that party leadership even ignored the calls and plea of the community highlighted from time to time. The community also vouch for CBI inquiry into back door and illegal appointments of over 2000 youths in J&K bank, RDD, Auqaf Islamia Kishtwar, Industries & Commerce, SPO, s in police department and other government departments. The association further decided that the community will also fight for the OBC status which was denied to them by the successive state governments. |
