NSF criticizes enhancement of retirement age | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jun 15: National Secular Forum (NSF) today staged protest against state government for enhancing the retirement age of government employees from 58 to 60 years and demanded the chief-minister for not enhancement of superannuation age of state university faculty from 60 to 65 years. Addressing gathering here today, NSF Jammu district president Amit Sanotra, said that the people of state in general and youth in particular have been facing several problems due to poverty, unemployment, corruption and mis-governance. "The major problem which is encountered by the youth is unemployment forcing the youth towards depression. Under these circumstances the enhancement in retirement age is irrelevant and injustice to the thousands of unemployed youth who feel themselves a burden in the society", he said. Amit further said that in developed countries the government employees were demanding reduction in retirement age, but it India especially in Jammu and Kashmir bizarrely the government employees had been demanding enhancement in retirement age. He further said that the decision of retirement age enhancement would encourage corruption with which the people were already fed up. "If the government is really sincere to solve the problems of government employees, it should remove pay anomalies in different grades, introduce running grade pattern and give representation to the wards of the retired employees in the government services", he said. |
