Dr Singh's initiative regarding new Rly Stn in Kathua hailed | | | Early Times Report Kathua, June 16: Nav Kathua Railway Station Nirmaan Samiti (RSNS) has welcomed the remark of Member of Parliament and Union Minister of State Dr Jitender Singh regarding the long pending demand of the Samiti for the construction of new railway station behind the Ramleela ground, near Boliyan at Kathua into the notice of Railway Minister D.V Sadananda. While appreciating Dr Singh's move for showing deep interest towards the long pending demand, the Samiti's spokesperson Sanjeev Verma said that the construction of railway station in the heart of city Kathua is not only a boosting factor for the district Kathua' economy but also for entire state. The railway station is the long pending demand for which the Samiti has been struggling since long with preparing a complete Detailed Project Report (DPR) on its own, which had been further submitted to the Railway Ministry during Lalu Parsad Yadav's period after that a pre-feasibility survey had been conducted for this alternate railway track and station. "But due to the lack of sources and political will of representatives the issue was out on back burner, but Dr Singh's remark has come as 'a ray of hope," he added. The large numbers of people of the hilly area of Billawar, Bani, Basohali and Andar area (Jarai, Karkra, and many others and Kandi area have already given their consent in writing for the construction of railway station at central place of the District Kathua behind Ramleela ground near Boliyan at Kathua. |
