Students block road to protest against shortage of staff | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Jun 16: The students of Govt High School Drabshala today held protest against the shortage of staff in the school and blocked Jammu- Kishtwar Highway to register the protest against the government and education department who fails to address the issue. While talking to " Early Times", the protesting students said that there are only two teachers who regularly attending the school while other teachers posted in the school either remain absent from their duties or working in attach capacity in different government offices. The students also alleged that school also lacks infrastructure and added that majority of the students studying in this school belongs to poor families and cannot afford the private tuitions. They demanded immediate posting of staff in the school, beside providing other facilities like library and better laboratories. Meantime Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kishtwar telephonically assured agitating students that their demands will be addressed in due course of time and it was the assurance of CEO Kishtwar, the students called off their protest. |
