‘Sher-e-Kashmir finds no takers in the region’ | NC banks on Omar yet again in Jammu rallies | | Early Times Report KALAKOTE, June 30: Senior National Conference leaders Devinder Singh Rana and Ajay Sadhotra have lauded Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for giving new dimension to development and setting a positive political discourse to steer the sensitive state of Jammu and Kashmir to a new era of peace, progress and prosperity. The two leaders have been touring various places in Jammu region to woo others ahead of Assembly elections. In most of the rallies addressed by them, the two leaders tried to cash the achievements of NC founder, Sher-e-Kashmir. They have perhaps realized that there were no, or a few takers for Sher-e-Kashmir in the region. Today while addressing a rally at Kalakote, the duo once again shifted focus on Omar Abdullah. Taking a dig at the BJP, the duo told he party workers to remain vigilant and resist any step aimed at polarization of the state. The duo talked inciting passions by exploiting communal and regional sentiments during Amarnath land row in 2008 by BJP and PDP. Rana, must know that the people know that all the meetings during that unfortunate period where held in Rana's house. Can he deny it? "Ours is not just a political party; it is a great resurgence movement that brought about a political revolution in Jammu and Kashmir by making people masters of their destiny", Sadhotra said. Does Sadhotra know that the people of Jammu are sick of such stuff for political reasons. Making such foolish statements in jammu will not help NC in any way. The Jammu people, he must bear in mind, still identify themselves with the Dogra monarchs. MLA Kalakote, Kr Rachpal Singh said the people of Kalakote have all along remained foot-soldiers of National Conference which believes in a progressive society based on equality and social justice. "Secularism has been the corner stone of Sher-e-Kashmir's glorious movement", he said. But can Rachpal explain what happened to the foot soldiers during the recently concluded Parliamentary elections? |
