Army begins plantation drive in Nagrota | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 11: A unit of Indian Army started plantation drive in Army Public School, Nagrota on Friday. According to press release, the drive was started by Lt Gen KH Singh, General Officer Commanding, White Knight Corps. About a thousand saplings of Ashok, Putranjeeva, Kanel and bougainvilia have been planted by the olive green fraternity including students of Army Public School and their parents. On the occasion the GOC said that "Schools were involved to teach the younger generation about their duty towards society to keep their future safe and making them aware that by planting trees the carbon imprints shall remain under control". He further said that the paramount importance of tress in providing a cozy habitat for human race has ever been increasing with time. It is our solemn duty to conserve the flora for future generations, he added. |
