Bharat Chowdhary demands compensation for 'land row' victims | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 11: People Democratic Party (PDP) has demanded compensation for the trades of Jammu who faced huge loss during infamous 2008 agitation in Jammu and Kashmir by announcing a special economic package to affected traders. Addressing a press conference here today, PDP contesting candidate from Jammu East for assembly election, Bharat Chowdhary flanked with Vikram Singh, Ashok Jogi & Ram Sarup today raised various Jammu oriented issues. "Despite of passing more than five years government failed to work-out appropriate packages of financial assistance to compensate the losses of the transport sector, trade and industry, horticulture sector, hoteliers and tourist operators, who faced financial crunch during infamous 2008 agitation, he said highlighting issues of Jammuites. He said, "The MLA's and MPs of Jammu during election campaign in 2008 promised the people to raising the issues but failed to take up the matter with government." Bharat Chowdhary appealed the union government to announce a suitable Economical Package for the victim of 2008-Land Row Agitation. Reacting of recently announced he said that IIT for Jammu is a welcome step and will prove beneficial for the youth. While welcoming rehabilitation package for KP migrant, Chowdhary said that it is step in right direction and regretted neglect of West Pakistan Refugees of 1947, Displaced Persons of 1965 and 1971. |
