Union Budget regressive, anti-working class: CPI-M | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 11: Communist Party of India(Marxist), Regional Committee Jammu held a demonstration at Press club against the continuous price rise of the essential commodities hitting the common man badly and described the Union Budget as regressive and anti-working class. CPI(M) activists holding party flags and banners in their hands, the castigated the Modi Government which had promised the people of India that once they voted for him, the people will get rid of the miseries and agonies inflicted during the UPA government. "But to the dismay of the common people, the new government led by Modi too seems to have failed to translate the promises made into reality, speakers said. Addressing the demonstration, Sham Prasad Kesar, Regional Secretary CPI(M), Jammu termed the union budget as regressive and anti-people which is bound to have adverse repercussions for the common masses. The common masses waiting for 'Ache Din Ane Wale Hain' might have become dejected today when their dreams for good days are completely missing in this budget, he said. He said that Finance Minister has pushed corporate neo-liberal reforms to the next level by pushing for greater FDI in Insurance and defence and promoting PPP and corporate social responsibility in almost every major welfare sector. Kesar and other speakers also deplored the pre-budget decision of increasing the fare and freight by 14.2% and 6.5% respectively and relating the fare and freight with the increase in the fuel prices on bi-annual basis. Om Prakash, General Secretary, CITU, Kishore Kumar and BanarasiDass, State Committee Members also addressed the gathering and castigated the Modi Government for its anti- people budget. |
