NSUI continues protest against fee hike, shuts cash counters at JU | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 11: National Students' Union of India (NSUI) today held protest demonstration at fee counters at Jammu University in continuous to its agitation demanding roll back in fee hike for examination and reevaluation. Addressing the protestors, Ajay Kumar, National delegate NSUI said that university hiked the examination fee and reevaluation fee which is not justified. He demanded the immediate revocation of increased fee. NSUI also stopped the process of fee collecting & receipts at the cash counters for hours till the university authorities approached agitating NSUI activists. Avjyot Singh, State Gen. Secy. NSUI said that the university is collecting huge amounts in the shape of fee from the students but is not providing the facilities. He demanded increasing number of cash counters, installion of water coolers & fans in cash counters premises.It is worthwhile to mention here that the university administration has agreed to install water coolers & fans in premises & increasing of cash counters within two days. But there was no consensus on revocation of fee hike. NSUI has warned the aggression if the decision of roll back is not taken. Ajay also demanded the refund of fee if a student clears his subjects in reevaluation. |
