Revenue Clerks, Patwar Association asks DTO to tender apology; threaters Tehsil level agitation | | | M.S Nazki
Poonch, July 12: Revenue Clerk and Patwar Association in DC office Poonch today went on strike against the manhandling by district treasury officer Poonch to an accounts employee of DC office on July 8, 2014. The Clerk and Patwar Association of DC office Poonch urged the district treasury officer Jitender Pandita to tender an apology for manhandling accounts clerk of DC office Ashwani Kumar who had gone for encashment of salary bills for the employees of DC office Poonch. Sources said that on July 8 Ashwani Kumar an accounts clerk in DC office Poonch went to district Treasury office Poonch with the salary bills of employees of his office. On seeing him the DTO Jitendra Pandita allegedly thrashed him and sent him out of his office and scattered his bills etc. Later Ashwani Kumar reached back to his office and told whole story to his superiors, who staged a protest demonstration against DTO Poonch and gave him ultimatum to tender an apology today itself or they will come to roads from July 14. District president of the Association Kifayat Hussain threatened to go on tehsil level strike in Mendhar, Haveli Surankote and Mandi from July 14 if DTO does not tender an apology in person till today for which an ultimatium was served to DTO. Meanwhile DC Poonch Sajad Ahmed Khan when contacted told 'Early Times' that the strike of his staff is justified and DTO Poonch must pacify this issue. The Assistant Commissioner Shafeeq Ahmed said that due to strike of employees in DC office Poonch people suffer at the hands of striking employees and urged upon the employees to call off the strike as public at large faces lot of hardships. |
