Power scenario worsens, frequent night cuts irk people

Jammu, July 13: When the sun is at its peak and when the humid conditions are high, the only relief to a common man is a cooler, or a fan. But the people pooh pooh power development department for their scheduled and unscheduled power cuts and has caused great resentment from every section of society. The people of Jammu is facing double trouble, one due to the humid and hot conditions and other due to the frequent power cuts not only day time but during night also.
Prerna Choudhary, a class 6th student said that these summer vacations have gone waste, because we are not able to watch our favorite programs and other can't study with electricity. This is due to frequent power cuts
Sunita Bhat, a housewife said this year power development department has crossed all the limits. One we pay handsome bills to the department for regular supply of power and other when PDD installed electronic metres promised will supply uninterrupted power but everything seems to be fell flat.
Munish Gupta, a businessman was of the opinion that due to unscheduled power cuts, it had very bad effect on our business. You see this government has failed almost on all fronts. Whole of Jammu city and outskirts including Janipur, Talab Tilloo, Trikuta Nagar, Channi etc are reeling under unscheduled day and night power cuts.
Superintendent Engineer Sunil Gupta, PDD while talking to early times said due to weather conditions we are facing lot of problems. We are forced to curtail the power to save the system and additional power cuts from Delhi forces us to take extreme steps. But with the passage of time and improved weather conditions the scenario will improve, he added.
