Kishtwar, July 23: Principal District and Session Judge, Bhaderwah, has reserved the judgment on bail application of encounter specialist SI Shiv Krishan Sharma alias Sonu and others facing trail in a case of militancy registered against them in a Doda police station. The case was registered against them under FIR No 33/2013 and sections 307 of RPC, ¾ ESA of 7/27 of Arms act at Police Station, Thatri, of Doda. According to reports, the court raised certain queries over granting bail to the accused cop from the defence council and asked him to present before him a case in which the apex court or a high court has granted bail to the accused facing trial in such cases as the offences under which they were facing trail were having the punishment ranging from 10 years to death penalty and under such cases, the defence council must produce the relevant authority before seeking the bail in favour of the client. Sonu has been behind the bars after Doda police arrested him on 04-06-2013 along with his PSO Mohammad Ayoob for their alleged involvement in providing logistic support to the militants involved in lobbying a handgrenade at police station Thatri. Abdul Rashid (27 yrs) code Abdullah, Akhter Hussain (24 yrs) S/o Showket Ali Magray R/o Tanta, Mohammad Rafi (20 yrs) S/o Mohammad Ibrahim R/o Patnazi Bhunzwah, Altaf Hussain (20yrs) S/o Nazir Ahmed R/o Joura Gandoh A/P Thathri and Mohammad Yaqoob (26 yrs) S/o Fateh Mohammad Gujjar R/o Bathree Gandoh, all alleged to be LeT militants, were also in jail in connection with the same case. |
