Teenage resists rape in Kishtwar, accused held 7/23/2014 11:27:53 PM Kishtwar, July 23: Showing immense courage, a teen girl (17) resisted a rape attempt and escaped by putting up a brave fight against her abductor, police sources said. Police have registered the case in this regard and have arrested the alleged rapist. They said the teenage girl (name withheld) hailing from a remote Saroori area of Kishtwar District resisted a rapist and escaped from his clutches after hitting him with a stone. As per the details, the girl today approach Police Station Kishtwar alongwith her father and lodged a written complaint against one Anish Kumar s/o Hem Raj of Chalasoo Saroori therein alleging while she was out in nearby forest area of the village alongwith her cattle, the accused finding her alone attempted to rape on her. In her complaint the victim alleged the accused tore her clothes and molested her and tried to commit rape upon her after pushing her inside the isolated Dhoka temporary shed. "She stated during the melee she got a stone and she hit the accused hard injuring him and managing her escape, police sources quoting complainant said. "After managing her escape from the forest area, she straight way rushed to her house and brought the matter into the notice of her mother who later discussed it with other elders, police sources said adding, "the victim has also alleged that the accused also had assaulted her sister. Police said that based on the girl's complaint, a case, Kishtwar police have registered an FIR U/ S 323/341 354 RPC at Police Station Kishtwar against the accused and arrest him. Meanwhile the father of the victim also has alleged that local panchayat has tried to influence him and asked him to hush up the case.
