Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 23: The statement of senior NC leader and Party general secretary Sheikh Nazir Ahmed has stirred a hornet's nest with entire KP community condemning it in one voice.
Instead of hanging his head in shame that his party led Government in 1989 failed to protect the minorities in Valley by insulting secularism slogan given by its front ranking leadership in 1947, the NC leaders statement is a testimony to the fact that what Sheikh Nazir said was the general opinion of NC about minority Pandits, said Kundan Kashmiri, Kashmiri Pandit Conference chief. He said the Party has come into its true colours and its senior leader spoke what was in the core of his heart.
Kashmiri said Pandits are not surprised over the statement as they can't expect anything good from the Party whose policies are responsible for present strife in the Valley.
KPC leader said instead of discharging his responsibility and taking on terrorists with iron hands the then Chief Minister and President of NC resigned from Government in 1990 and fled to UK.
He said KPs are not surprised over the statement of NC leader but the role of Kashmiri Pandits associated with party and enjoying the sarcastic statements of their community by the party senior leaders. Taking a dig at the KP representatives in the party, Ashok Kangan a senior leader of Jammu Kashmir Vichar Manch said it is astonishing that KP representatives in the Party including MLC Vijay Bakaya, ex MLC Bushan Lal Bhat, working President of the party M.K. Yogi and other functionaries Anil Dhar have not disassociated themselves from the party.
He urged them that if they have any love and respect for the community they should resign enmass from Primary membership of the party. The Panun Kashmir, Kashmiri Hindu Conference, All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference, Kashmiri Samiti Delhi and Roots in Kashmir leaders have also asked these KP leaders to disassociate.
