Why are Omar, higher officials silent over irregularities in the Deptt? | 10th pass holds charge of Law Officer in Estates Deptt | | K Koushal Jammu, July 23: Even as the Estates Department is plagued with the allegations of corruption, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and higher officials in the department have maintained silence over this issue, owing to which eyebrows are being raised over their conduct also. As per sources, a matriculate has been adjusted as Incharge Law Officer in the Estate Department, allegedly sidelining a graduate candidate at the behest of some higher officials in the department and the Chief Minister, being the incharge of the department, is unmoved till date. Now question arises why are they silent over these alleged irregularities? Sources said Bodh Raj, who was regularized under order No GDC-79/CM/2011 dated December 8, 2011 of General Administration Department (GAD) in the pay scale of 4440-7440 as watchman is matriculate and has been given the charge of Law Officer. A graduate employee, who deserved to hold the charge of the law officer, was sidelined because the watchman was "close" to some senior officers for "obvious" reasons. Instances of alleged irregularities in the allotment of accommodation by the Estates Department were highlighted by Early Times in its yesterday edition. |
