Jammu, July 23 : The demand for Tehsil status to Purmandal gained momentum as the elections come nearer in the state. In this context a meeting of the Purmandal Tehsil Action Forum was held here today under the Chairmanship of Raman Sharma, Sarpanch Purmandal. Sharma said there is no Tehsil in the radius of 50-60 Kms i.e. from Bain Bajalta in the west and Nud in the East and from Bral Mansard from the North and upto Bari Brahmana in the South and no revenue unit is functioning.
"Since block status is given to Purmandal in 1957 but all the offices upto the block level are functioning outside the limit of block territory viz. offices of B.D.O, C.D.P.O, Z.E.O and B.V.O etc. This is also the injustice for the area", he said. Sharma appealed to the government to consider the genuine demands of the people of Purmandal area. |
