| Body of drowned man fished out | | | Udhampur, July 23: Police fished out the body of a man, who was washed away in flash flood in Tawi in Chenani on this morning, "The deceased has been identified as Sohan Lal (34) s/o Kunj Lal of Tandar Chenani. sources said.
According to the sources, a man was washed away at around 8:30 today morning in Tawi River in Chenani.
"Locals immediately called the Police Station Chenani Police party led by SHO Chenani Ajeet Singh rushed the spot and started search cum rescue operation.
The body of deceased was recovered at around 1:00pm, they added.
After retrieving the police party took the body in their custody and shifted it to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Chenani for Postmortem.
After Postmortem and legal formalities the body was hand over to the family members for last rites. Meanwhile concerned police have registered a case u/s 174 and further investigation is going on. |
