Court acquits JDA Draftsman from corruption charges | | | Jammu, July 23 (JNF): Additional Sessions Judge Anticorruption Jammu Sanjay Parihar has acquitted Madan Lal then Head-Draftsman JDA Div-1 Jammu who was caught red-handed by the Vigilance organization Jammu (VoJ) on August 25, 2009, following the complainant turned hostile. Additional Sessions Judge Anticorruption Jammu Sanjay Parihar after hearing Adv KS Charak appearing for the accused, observed that the oral evidence on the record of the file nowhere satisfactorily explains the ingredients of the offence 161 RPC and 5(2) PC Act and bribe to complainant for doing favour to him for processing of wage bill claim nor is there any clinching evidence that bribe money of Rs 500/- was accepted by accused. With these observations Court acquitted the accused from the charges leveled against him. According to VOJ case one Romesh Kumar Sharma lodged a written complaint alleging that one head draftsman JDA Division-1 Jammu is demanding Rs.500/- for processing the pay dues of 10 security guards of Punjab Security hired by Jammu Development Authority for the security purposes. Accordingly a trap was laid and head draftsman was caught red-handed while accepting Rs 500/-, it added. |
