JMC seizes 10 kg polythene carry bags, Rs 13,900 fine imposed | | | Jammu, July 24: A team of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today inspected various food establishments like Hotel, Restaurants, Meat & Chicken shops, Provisional stores, Bakery Shops, Food Stalls, Sabzi Vendors, Fruit Juice Corners / vendors , Tea Stalls, Ice Cream Corners, etc. at Kanji House, Amphalla, Roop Nagar, B.C Road, Indira Chowk, Grater Kailash, Shalamar Road, Hari Market, Karan Market, Gumat etc. of Jammu city.During the drive, the team seized about 10 Kgs of Polythene carry bags. A fine of Rs. 13,900 was imposed ondefaulters. During the round 03 person were booked under COTP Act 2003 and a fine of Rs. 600/-was imposed as penalty from the defaulters & citizens were also advised not to smoke in public places as it is injusrious to health. Besides this 30 kgs of stale cooked food and 50 liters of "Jaljeera" was also destroyed on spot which was not fit for human consumption and eight samples of different kinds of food articles were also lifted from different areas. The samples lifted are Khoya & Paneer from B.C Road, two samples of Fruit Drinks Beverages from Lower Roop Nagar, sugar cane juice from Shalamar Road, Baker Product from Amphalla, Sterilised Toned Milk & Tea Taaza Brand from Greater Kailash and sent to the Food Analyst Jammu for ascertain its standard of purity. |
