| Nobody cries over Humhama, Gogoo land scam | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 24: The land scam worth crores of rupees surfaced at Humhama, Gogoo outside Srinagar Airport in which Top brass officials are among the encroachers goes unabated as all ways leading to any kind of actions is halted by officials in power. As Early Times on the basis of document details on July 19,2014 exposed a land scam worth crores of rupees in Humhama, Gogoo area outside Srinagar Airport in which document details in possession reveal that in Humhama area 234 kanals and 1 marlas of Kahcharai land and arround 36 kanals 1 marlas of state land and in nearby Gogoo area 25 kanals 13 marlas of Kahcharai land have been encroached illegally over the years by hundreds of blue eyed people including noted bureaucrats and government officials of the state administration. Pertinently as documents which expose details including names of encroachers according to the sources were kept hidden by officials at the office of the Deputy Commissioner Budgam due to the pressure exerted by Top Brass officials of state administration not to expose the matter in media agencies, yet instead of any stern action against encroachers according to reports in police station of Humhama an FIR under sections 447-A and 132 has been launched against Bharat Bhushan and Muzaffar Ahmad Jan, senior functionaries of Jammu and Kashmir Cooperative Housing Corporation (JKCHC), which has developed the colony only after a dispute broke out between one Minister and top brass officials over a piece of land under occupation of the official.
The details reveal that after the incident of scuffle between Minister and official, The Minister though tried to take the action against the official, however under pressure from official lobby concerned Tehsildar filed a complaint against the JKCHC employees. Sources said that document copies of the land scam which reveal names of encroachers, total area of land encroached and government actions taken against the encroachers are with Divisional commissioner Kashmir, Financial commissioner revenue, Deputy commissioner Budgam, Special Assistant to Revenue Minister,Sub Divisional Magistrate Khan sahab and With Tehsildar's of Beerwah, Khag, Chadoora, Chahrari Sharief and Khansahab of Budgam District, yet nobody is taking initiative to take any kind of action against the encroachers. Sources said that lower rank officials of District Administration Budgam are helpless to take action against encroachers due to political interference and despite the fact that apart from sending warning letters to encroachers time to time District Administration since 2011through various formal means is informing encroachers not to violate section 133 LRA, However the matter goes unabated.
Pertinently as reported earlier the matter got exposed after very recently one cabinet Minister asked one top brass official of the state to vacate Ten Marlas of land in the area for the construction of a park in the area which are in possession of the said officials and when the official and his high profile wife refused to leave 10 marlas of land to the Minister resulted in a scuffle between the Minister and official and the matter reached to Humhama Police station. Meanwhile despite repeated attempted, Minister for Revenue, Ajaz Ahmad Khan did not pick up the phone.' |
