Cop among 4 killed in car mishap near Reasi

Rajouri , July 25: Four persons of family were killed near Pouni in Reasi this morning when their Santro car skidded off the road and fell into a river.
Family sources said that about 8 members of a family including children were on way to Bhakar in Reasi district in two cars to attend a burial ceremony of their relative.
The Santro car, which met with the accident, was being driven by Mohammad Jubier, son of Haji Ghulam Hussain while the other car was being driven by his brother Raja alias Jahangi whose wife and two children were also with him.
Jubier's step-mother Razia Begum, wife Parviez Akhtar and brother-in-law, police cop Mohammad Bashir were travelling with him in his car bearing registration No JK02AP-2426. Instead of taking turn towards Bhakar, Jubier headed towards Reasi city while Jahangir reached Bhakar. When Jehangir did not find the Santro car at Bhakar, he contacted Jubier on his cellphone and asked him to come to Bhakar.
Jubier then turned his car back and was headed towards Bhakar. He, however, lost control over the car at about 7.45 am as a result of which it skidded off the road and fell in the river.
People rushed to the accident site and informed the police at Pouni and also started rescue operation but all the four were killed on the spot.
The bodies were shifted to Pouni hospital and the family members were informed. After legal formalities, the bodies were handed over to the family members for last rites. Body of cop Bashir, who was PSO of Mustaffa Azad, brother of ex-Union minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, was later sent to his native place at Chandimarh in Poonch district.
Meanwhile Rajouri police under the command of Mubassar Latifi SSP expressed deep condolence on the sad demise of HC, Abdul Rashid and an amount of Rs 25000 was given to the family members as immediate relief by the department. Additional SP S hiv Kumar Chowan, Abdul Hamid ,DSP HQs, Yaspal Singh ,SHO and Mohd Shrief, in-charge Rajouri police post also attended the last rites of the deceased.
