Jammu, July 25: The distributor of private cellular service provider company 'Idea' and his helper were arrested on charges of selling SIM cards on forged papers in a bid to achieve the sales target. The arrested have been identified as Surinder Kumar Sharma s/o Sai Dass of Dhok Waziran, Distributor of private cellular company and Rahul Bhat s/o Avtar Krishan Bhat of Jagti Migrant Camp. "The SIM card racket was busted in Nagrota at city outskirts today, police sources said further adding, " when following a tip off from reliable police source police party from Nagrota Police Station led by SHO Sajid Parvez conducted a raid at the outlet of the Idea falling under its jurisdiction. Police sources said, "The duo were allegedly pushing sales of SIM cards of Idea without collecting valid documents just to achieve the sales target set by the company." Sources added the raid was conducted on inputs that a racket is operational allegedly selling SIM cards of Idea against fake documents. "During the raid, the police recovered some fake voter cards of people and even the copies of Permanent Resident Certificates (PRCs), police sources said. They added that the duo has been booked u/s 420,467468,471 RPC and put on sustained questioning Thereis likelihood of arrests on their disclosures. |
