Shortlisted jail warden candidates hold protest, demand release of selection-list | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 11: All short-listed candidates for jail warden in Prisons Department held protest here today. The short-listed candidates for jail warden amid slogans assembled outside Press Club and held protest against the callous attitude adopted by the Government and the concerned authorities. They expressed anguish over the delay in the release of the list of the selected candidates. Addressing the gathering, the protesting candidates demanded release of the final selected candidates, which was pending for the last more than three years due to the reason best known to the concerned authorities. One of the protesting candidates informed that about 41182 unemployed youth had applied for the post and 12467candidates were short-listed for the interview, which was held in the month of September 2010. He said that the even after more than three years, the final selection list has not yet been released. The protesting candidates urged the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, MoS Home Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo, Principal Secretary Home Suresh Kumar and Director General Prison PL Gupta to personally intervene in the matter and redress their demand at the earliest. |
