Jammu, July 27: Activists of National Secular Forum (NSF) staged protest demonstration Vice Chancellor of Central University, for not taking any cognizance of protest demonstration, launched by Forum since last two year, against irregularities, favoritism in Central University Jammu and shield 'tainted' officers who were given undue benefit over the years.
Speaking on the occasion, President NSF Sukhdev Singh criticized the working of Central University Vice-Chancellor and also to show there resentment against Central University of Jammu authorities are putting each and every effort for absorbing their kith and kin in the campus and no check accountability in functioning of Central University Jammu.
Singh said the varsity has become a rehabilitation center for retired and corrupt officials. "The varsity administration has violated the norms by recruiting the retired teachers and other staff members. As per the Central University Statutes, the serving officials should not be above 65 years but the administration has recruited some teachers who are above 65years," he said.
Singh said that the CUJ administration was ignoring the youth of Jammu region in jobs and jobs are being awarded to non-Jammuties thereby the CUJ, V-C was playing with the emotions and sentiments of Jammu ties.
It has been witnessed by all the concerned students, scholars and public that in all the previous appointments in the Central University Jammu it's been the fact that the deserving and meritorious candidates were ignored and deprived from the fair selection and they were the victims of the biased and unethical discrimination of their fundamental right.
"According to CUJ norms, the maximum age for post of DSW is 62 years but he is 65 years of age, which is clear violation of law and that too illegally as the post was not advertised", Singh rued. "The student community had presumed that CUJ would benefit them on account of providing jobs, but maximum of outsiders and retired officials are being rehabilitated by VC", he said, and while citing an example, NSF President said that VC had appointed an officer as Dean Student Welfare.

"Only 10 percent of teaching staff is local and that too are either close to VC or his relatives. Moreover all the clerical staff working there is appointed on directions of VC, without any advertisement", he alleged, adding that on one hand CUJ was approved for Jammu following a long struggle of Jammuties.
NSF members said that NSF will continue its struggle for the social cause and appealed the people of the state to come forward and expose the corrupt person in CUJ. NSF president, Sukhdev Singh appealed to minister of HRD for direct Varsity administration to conduct audit of last three years and initiate a CBI probe, to unearth the biggest illegal recruitment racket in CUJ, otherwise they would launch a series of protest against CU administration, shortly.
