Another promise unkept: Employees not paid salaries before Eid

Rajouri, July 28 : Despite Chief Minister's announcement that salary for the month of July shall be paid to the employees of the state government a day before Eid, many an employees had to cut a sorry figure as their salaries were not credited into their bank accounts till late Monday.
Long queues were seen out side and inside the banks in every corner of the district till 5pm but their long wait for the payment went futile when they were told by the bank authorities that no money has been sent by the government to release their salaries before Eid festival. Peer Panjal Regional Employees Front (PPREF) headed by Shahbaz Khan, headmaster government primary girls school has strongly criticized the State government for its failure to provide their salaries on the eve of Eid festival. Shabaz Khan said that the Chief Minister had announced that the employees in the state would be provided salary for the month of July before Eid festival and everybody was happy after this announcement.
He added that in education department out of 15 Education Zones 8 are headless and the the principals of various higher secondary schools have been given additional charges of 'drawing and disbursing powers' in the absence of ZEOs.
Shahbaz added that these principal don't bother about the problems being faced by the teacher and their salaries have been delayed and it will dampen the spirits of Eid. Many employees in Thanamndi, Darhal, Kalakot , Sunderbani, Manjakot , Nowshera tehsils came empty handed from the banks.
In Rajouri education zone the money was provided in the banks but after 4 pm when almost all the employees had gone back. "Those who have ATM accounts can withdraw the money in the evening or night hours to celebrate Eid on Tuesday. But many among them have no such facilities and their Eid would be without any fervor and gaiety" said an employee.
