Udhampur, July 28: Alleging shortage of medical staff in the health institutions in the district, the locals today staged a demonstration outside the Office of Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur and demanded adequate strength of staff for better health care system. The protest was organized under the leadership of social worker Ajaz Sumberiya and after staging protest a delegation led by Mr Sumberiya submitted a memorandum of demands to the Deputy Commissioner Udhampur for further pursuance. Earlier addressing the protestors, Ajaz Sumberiya said, "Almost every medical institution of district Udhampur is facing shortage of staff, specialist facility paramedical, emergency medicines, equipments, Ambulance services." "The stretch of National Highway NH-1A and the link roads in interiors of district witness many road accidents but the 'Trauma Center' still is a dream despite of assurance by successive ministers, department heads, public representatives, he added. "Due to lack of services and due human resources, he said, "District Hospital Udhampur witnessed a tremendous increase in the number of the patients and thus is proportional to the 'referral cases' to Govt medical Colleg Jammu and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu. Manoj khajuria, Sunil Sharma, Gagan Sharma, Amit Singh , Jugal Kalotra, Sanjeev Singh, Sahil Sumbria, Sunesh Kumar, Parshotam Kumar, Raj Kumar , Ch Mohd Rafi and Imtiaz Ahmed also addressed the protestors. |
