JK Medicity closure, patients at 'receiving end' | Infamous medico-negligence case: | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 28: A day after the State Health Department suspended registration of a private hospital JK Medicity after a wrong treatment forcing 'abortion', the patients receiving treatment in the hospital were asked to vacate the premises but without reimbursement of their payment made in advances putting many of patients to be on loser's end. Although the footfall of fresh patients already has declined since Saturday morning after victimized patient and her family staged protests against the hospital authorities for alleged forced abortion but the in-patients undergoing treatment were asked to leave hospital premises but with releasing their pending due made as advance payments. The 'suspension notice' was served to the hospital authorities on Monday morning by the Health Department Jammu (J&K) after a case of alleged 'medico- negligence' case leading to termination of eight month old pregnancy was reported on Friday and then the patients were asked to leave. Some of the attendants lamented that before leaving when they demanded refund of advance money made to the hospital the JK Medicity authorities initially declined their request of refunding the money but when some of the relatives approached media persons waiting outside the hospital the hospital authorities peevishly agreed to repay the deposited amount. Meanwhile, several patients and their relatives faced hardships while shifting their patients to other places. Some of the relatives were keen on staying back in the hospital premises but they were asked to vacate the premises after the receipt of the suspension of registration notice. |
