CAPD realizes Rs 278050 from violators | | | JAMMU, July 28 : The Department of CAPD under the guidance of Director Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department Jammu, G.S. Chib has initiated an intensive market checking drive across the Jammu division during the holy month of July. 1641 business establishments have been checked by the various teams constituted for the purpose and out of which 415 were found violating various norms under the Essential Commodities Act 1955 and fine amounting to Rs. 2, 78,050 has been realized from the defaulters. The drive was mainly carried out to check the prices of essential commodities in the holy month of Ramzan as well as Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. The violators have been warned to remain careful in future. The public in general is requested to cooperate with the department and in case of any violation noticed by them, they may inform on the Helpline numbers 1967 and 0191-2502607. However, the similar drives by the department shall remain continued. |
