Jammu, July 29: Rainfed Research Sub Station For Sub Tropical Fruits (RRSS), Raya of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J), organized one day training cum demonstration on preparation of 'Dhew Pickle' for Rural Women and unemployed youth. The training was organized under SERB DST, New Delhi project entitled, "Exploitation of under-utilized fruits of kandi areas of Jammu region through value addition for human resource development" at village Ranjan, Jammu. In this training, about 60 rural farm women and unemployed youth from Ranjan village participated. "The programme was aimed for profitable utilization of Dhew fruit by making Pickle on scientific lines to fetch better market price for this value added product, an official spokesperson said. Meenakshi Trilokia, JRF, SERB-DST Project, RRSS, Raya, SKUAST-J welcomed the participants while Dr Neeraj Gupta, Principal Investigator, SERB-DST project gave details regarding the value addition of Dhew fruit in the rainfed areas of the Jammu region and gave a detailed demonstration for making Pickle. The participants were appreciative to know the technique of value addition of Dhew fruit and also expect such types of trainings in future also. At the end of the programme, Meenakshi Trilokia, JRF of the SERB DST Project presented the vote of thanks. |
