ANANTNAG, July 30: As district authorities including Deputy commissioner Anantnag has evidently flashed an allegiance with `tainted' Health department officials including Director Health Services Kashmir. Several blued eyed doctors posted in Primary Health Centers of the district continue to skip their duties for earning out of the unholy private practice while as ISM doctors continue putting lives of innocents at risk by prescribing allopathic medicines.
Highly placed sources said that the blue eyed doctors who helped and organized protest marches in favor of tainted Director, Dr Saleem-ul-Rehman when he was facing accusation of molesting a female staff nurse in his office, are getting prize postings besides several of them continue to skip their duties and are earning out of private practice.
Locals in Srigufwara area of Anantnag said that a privileged lady doctor whom they identified as Dr Mehmooda resident of Bijbehara, posted in Primary Health Center Srigufwara continue to skip her duties and despite repeated complaints against the lady doctors health authorities have not initiated any action her.
They said that said doctor and others including a dental surgeon are close aides of BMO Dr Ashid Ahmad Tak and CMO Anantnag Nazir Ahmad Shahdad. While as both the officials are themselves blue-eyed officials of the tainted Director health Services Kashmir.
Early Times after visiting the PHC today found the allegations of locals correct, after finding a single ISM doctor handling the PHC and prescribing allopathic medicines thus putting the lives of innocent villagers at risk. ISM doctor identified as Dr Shamim Ahmad along with a medical assistant and NO was handling the PHC when this reporter visited the hospital.
Hospital was running out the life saving drugs, PHC employees told Early Times. This reporter also found several patients buying life saving drugs including glucose (DNS) from a nearby medical shop. Early Times also found ISM doctor prescribing sub-standard allopathic medicines evidently proving that the drug authorities have never raided the drug stores and medical shops.
All the district officials including Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Bashir Ahmad Khan, Chief Medical Officer Anantnag, Dr Nazir Ahmad Shahdad, BMO Pahalgam Dr Arshid Ahmad Tak, Tehsildar Pahalgam where immediately informed, however, excluding assuring action none of them actually deputed any official for surprise check.
However, in the evening on the directions of Tehsildar Pahalgam, Naib Tehsildar Pahalgam visited the hospital; however he too not initiated any action against the absentee doctors.
"They are absent I took a list from there it is a fact but today was Eid so we must overlook these issues," he told Early Times on being contacted.
Tainted Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Saleem-ul-Rehman also assured action against the absentee doctors while as BMO said that he will suspend the doctors.
However, the locals were pessimistic about any action against the doctors.
