| Missing teen's 'mysterious death' sparks protest | | | Kulgam, July 30: Protests erupted in Kulgam district after a teenager who was missing since Tuesday was found dead this morning by residents, police sources said here today.
Police sources said that spontaneous protests began in Rakhama area of the district, after residents found the body of teen 'Parven', 16, who was missing since last (Tuesday) night. "As the news reached his village in Kulgam, student's relatives and neighbours took to the streets in started protesting, they added.
Quoting some of protesters, police sources said that protestors alleged that the boy was killed by kin of the girl with whom he had an affair. "Thereafter protesters marched towards the house of the girl and set a cowshed afire, they said. They added police swung into action and brought the situation under control.
"Meantime body of deceased has been sent for post mortem and case has been registered while investigations in this regard are on, police sources added. |
