11 gamblers apprehended with stake money of Rs 91,500 | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 30: Police today claimed to have arrested eleven (11) gamblers and recovered stake money of Rs 91,500 from the place in a gambling den in outskirts of the city. On a tip off, a police party of Police Station Janipur raided a place at house of one Manoj Gupta S/o Harbans Lal Gupta in Lower Roop Nagar area in their locality on intervening night of July 29/30.' During the raid, police said, "Police team apprehended 11 gamblers along with playing cards and recovered stake money of Rs. 91,500/-. "The accused have been identified namely as Naresh Gurang s/o Lal Singh Gurang of H. No. 107, Satwari,Kuldeep Singh s/o Ghar Singh of Dhok Paloura, Sumit Kumar Gupta s/o Deep Raj of Sec. No. 4, Lower Roop Nagar Jammu, Manik Mahajan s/o Sushil Gupta of H No. 329, Sarwal,Sanjay Singh s/o Rama Shanker of Nai Basti, Satwari, Rajesh Singh s/o Varinder Singh of Udheywala, Sandeep Manhas s/o Bhagwan Singh of Dhok Paloura, Ramneek Singh s/o Gurcharan Singh of Camp Gole Gujral Ranjeet Pur Domana, Kamal Jeet s/o Ashok Kumar of Nitco Lane Talab Tillo, Jagdev Raj s/o Chuni Lal of Kot Bhalwal and Jai Raj s/o Puran Singh of Dhok Paloura, police said.It added the raid was conducted under the supervision and leadership of SP City North, Jammu Yougal Manhas and SDPO City West, Jammu Shriram Ambarkar. "All the gamblers were produced in the court of law under Public Gambling Act. People of the area have appreciated the action of police, police said. |
