Black bear found dead in upper Banihal 8/1/2014 12:19:23 AM Early Times Report Banihal, July 31: A black Bear was today found dead in Kheaekote a remote area in upper reaches of Banihal area, sources said. Sources within the Wildlife Department said, "Soon after receiving the news about death of a black bear, a team of Wildlife Department and police rushed to the spot in Khaerkote some 12 kilometers away from main Banihal." After reaching to spot the wildlife team took the custody of corpse of black bear and called the services of expert from Animal Husbandry Department Banihal for the postmortem of animal. During autopsy the veterinary experts found that body carried some injury marks indicating some wild animal had attacked the bear and it could be an attack from leopard, sources said and added, "after post mortem Wildlife Department destroyed the corpse in presence of Magistrate, Naib Tehsildar Banihal Naiz Ahmed Wani.
