Numbers of concerned BLO's incorrect, traced from other districts | What is wrong with CEO's website? | | Bivek Mathur JAMMU, July 31: Continuing with its long tradition of ignoring to update basic information on its website, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Jammu and Kashmir is once again in limelight for providing wrong information of Block Level Officers (BLOs) in its website. Early Times has received several complaints from voters of Jammu region about the incorrect names and contact numbers of the BLOs. To check the veracity of these complaints, some phone calls were made by this scribe which was found to be true as these were answered by some people from other districts including Kathua, Doda and Udhampur. A call was made by Early Times on the number of BLO of Raipur Domana constituency and Barnai-A polling station Karan Singh, who is Government teacher by profession which was answered by a lady of Billawar in Kathua district and upon further questioning about her contact number, she got irked and said that it was not the first call she has received on her number but receiving two to three calls a day on the name of Karan Singh has become a routine affair. Pertinently, earlier Early Times has reported about the mess in the correction of names of the voters in the voters list which the voters had applied for the correction through the concerned BLOs about three to four months back, just after the conclusion of Parliamentary elections in the state and about the signing up process through the Form number eight and form number five options in the website of the Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu and Kashmir but till now neither CEO has shown any concern over the mistakes in the department’s website nor it has bothered to rectify the mistakes. |
