Female dental surgeons continue hunger strike for 19th consecutive day | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 31: The female dental surgeons under the banner of Dental Surgeons Association (DSA) continued their chain hunger strike for the nineteenth consecutive day, whereas the dharna by the association entered 31st day here today. Continuing the chain hunger strike, Dr Preeti Menia observed fast to carry forward the movement of the association. Addressing the gathering, chairman of the association Dr Pawan Singh Jasrotia appealed that the government should believe in corner stone principles of equality and consider the genuine demands of unemployed dental surgeons of the state. The agitating dental surgeons supported by All India Backwards class union took out a protest march commencing from Civil Secretariat Jammu to office of the Deputy Commissioner via residency road to express their resentment. Unemployed dental surgeons along with the members of AIBCU protested in front of National Conference as well as Congress officse and raised the slogans against careless nature of CM and Health minister towards skilled youth. Later, the protesting doctors met ADC Jammu and urged him to readdress the issues of dental surgeons. Dr. Singh informed that the members of Jammu Province People Forum (JPPF) came to meet dental surgeons and extended their support. |
