Contractual RNTCP employees hold token strike | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 1: Alleging callous approach of the concerned health authorities of Jammu Division towards the problems and pending issues of Contractual RNTCP (Revised National Tuberculosis Control Program) employees including non-payment of salaries for last few months, today staged day long token strike at District TB Centre /CD hospital Bakshi Nagar Jammu. Protesting employees were demanding early release of their salaries pending for the last three- four months including revision of their salaries as per new CTD guidelines and to fix the salaries at par with the salaries of RNTCP employees of Kashmir Division. They also demanded regularization of RNTCP employees engaged in J&K State. Addressing the protestors Kuldeep Sharma, President All J&K contractual RNTCP Employees, Division Jammu said, "Total strength of all RTNCP contractual employees in entire J&K State is barely upto 200 but state government has no policy for regularization of these contractual employees hired under Centrally Sponsored Scheme. He said many of these employees are in service for the last 12-14 years and many are at the threshold of upper age limit. The concerned authorities include CM office has been approached several times in this regard but no action has been taken so far. President said that we are decided to go on Strike in future and will stop the RNTCP services in entire Jammu Division if their demands are not met in time.
