Denial of permission to Kounsar Nag pilgrimage snowballing into controversy | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 1: The denial of permission to Kashmiri Hindus to take out Yatra to ancient shrine of Kounsar Nag in Pir Panchal Range of Kashmir Valley via famous waterfall Aharbal in Kulgam district of Valley has snowballed into a big controversy with VHP opposing the Government decision and accusing it of working on the separatists instructions. Strongly condemning the state Government for denial of permission to Hindu Pilgrims to have pilgrimage of ancient shrine of Kounsar Nag VHP general secretary Dr sham Lal Gupta and working president Ham Raj Khajuria said that it is very painful to say that administration instead of encouraging the Yatris and tourists to visit Kashmir valley it has denied Permission to Hindu Pilgrims on the behest of separatists. They said it has become clear that administration in Kashmir is playing in the hands of separatists and anti national forces. The VHP leaders said it is unfortunate that Pandits being aborigines of valley are denied now permission to have a pilgrimage of their religious places in Kashmir under a deliberate plan. They said under a game plan administration was trying to discourage Hindu Yatris to visit religious places in the State. The Yatris of Buddha Amarnath who left for holy shrine this morning from here were not allowed to have the darshan of Mangla Mata in Nowshera area by district administration Rajouri despite the fact that same has been agreed in a meeting of Baba Amarnath & Buddha Amarnath Yatri Niyas with Divisional commissioner Jammu and IG Jammu. They said over 1200 Yatris who left for holy shrine from here are perturbed as they have been harassed by district administration by not allowing them to visit the holy shrine enroute. The VHP leaders while taking serious exception to it said that Hindus will not tolerate any interference in their religious affairs and come to streets in protest. They said it was on the persistent demand of people Yatra was taken from that route and denial of permission has also hurt the sentiments of local people of the area too. They said if the administration in July 17 meeting agreed to take Yatra via this route why the district administration forced the Yatris to change the route. |
