Chowdhary visits Suchetgarh, assesses situation after firing along IB | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 19: President of Mahatma Gandhi Forum BL Chowdhary along with his team visited remote areas of Suchetgarh constituency to assess the situation after the unprovoked firing in the border areas by Pakistan rangers. Addressing a public gathering, Chowdhary said that firing and shelling from across the border has been a repeated happening in these areas and it has resulted in loss of life and property. He further asserted that people residing in these areas are bold, courageous and hardworking people but they have been facing various difficulties and problems such as lack of schools. He said that the state government has not taken any appropriate measure for the development of these areas and no appropriate scheme has ever been framed for removing the property and unemployment of the border people. "Situation has deteriorated to such an extent that almost all the youth of these areas, both educated and uneducated, have been left unemployed. Even no disbursement of relief or compensation has ever been given to the farmers of these areas whose crops have totally failed due to persistent firing from the other side", he said, adding that after the firing incidents in International borders areas it became a picnic spot for politicians and so called social activist who are just playing with the emotions of public to garners their support for political power. |
