JAMMU, Aug 20: The fortnight plantation drive organized by Maharaja Hari Singh Agriculture College (MHAC) School concluded today at its school campus. During this fortnight around 500 saplings were planted by the students and staff. Principal Alok Betab had inaugurated the Plantation fortnight by planting sapling of Alstonia. This was followed by the plantation of saplings by Head Boy, Head Girl, Sports Captains, House Captains, Vice Captains and the Student-Editors. MHAC trains 50 cadets each for NCC Army and NCC Navy every year. These cadets also planted more than 100 saplings of Alstonia, Pongomia, Neem, Hibiscus, Cupressus etc. The student activists of AryaYuvaSamaj also planted more than 50 tree saplings. The LMC Chairman Capt. Dewan Singh applauded this action of students in favour of environmental conversation and encouraged them to continue such activities in near future. |
